Glomerulonephritis (GN) is one of the most important causes of kidney failure in Canada.

It is a group of relatively rare diseases that damage the tiny filters (glomeruli) that your kidneys rely on to remove waste products.

Several factors make it difficult to provide effective care for GN:

  • GN treatments have many side effects
  • We need better methods to determine who is at highest risk and which treatments are best for individual patients

We will address these challenges by creating a network to develop personalized treatments for patients with GN and to identify new markers of high-risk, potentially progressive GN.
